Tarvin AFC is proud to be able to provide a number of footballing settings for the wide range of players that compete and train with our Club. Whilst ensuring we adhere to the FA core values of respect, inclusivity and playing safe, our teams and groups create a fun yet competitive environment in which we aim to nurture and enhance the footballing principles of leadership, teamwork and technical & tactical ability.

mixed football
Mixed Football has been the main format of football for our Club right from the start in 1999 and is where boys and girls can play together. In each year group we boast two or even three teams with the support and effort of parents & guardians as managers & coaches. As an FA accredited Club we ensure we provide an inclusive and safe footballing environment that allows our players to enjoy the game, learn respect and develop their footballing ability at the appropriate competitive level. All teams train in the evening during the week and play matches at the weekend, in either the Chester & District Junior Football League or the Mid Cheshire Youth Football League. girls football
Tarvin AFC established a Girls section in June 2022 which has gone from strength to strength. The number of girls playing each week has grown rapidly, with a thriving community of footballers and coaches from our Club's rural community. We currently cover six age groups, from U6’s to U11’s but expect to continue to add each year so the Girl's section matches up with the Mixed football and runs from U6's up to U18's. We currently have squads playing competitively in the Cheshire Girls League in Chester with all matches taking place on a Saturday morning at the KGV pitch in Blacon. Training takes place on a Wednesday between 6-7pm with all of the girls age groups currently training at the same time and venue. We'd love you to get in touch if your Girl players want to get involved and we are always on the look out for additional helpers as our Club grows. A footballer's journey has to start somewhere and at Tarvin AFC we believe that is in the safe and fun setting of our U5's football. Sessions are held each Sunday morning from 9-10am and are run by Club officials that are fully FA accredited to ensure the welfare of our youngest players. women's squad
Our Womens Squad launched in November 2023 with the aim to create a fun and supportive environment for women of all abilities to play football. Less than a year on membership was capped at 42 players, sponsorship had been secured for kit and two teams had played their first competitive matches. It is a positive, inclusive and fun setting for our players to develop their footballing skills. Contact womensfootball@tarvinafc.co.uk to be added to our waiting list.
VETS
Veterans football provides an opportunity to stay involved in the game, still providing that competitive element for players who are looking to keep playing or get back into football. The Tarvin AFC Veterans team plays in the Cheshire Veterans Football League where the minimum age of a player is 35 years old. Our Vets play their home matches on our Ashton pitch.
